Our philosophy

We provide clarification,
not classification.

We help artists, makers and creators communicate the human contribution to their creative work.

You should be able to tell the story of your work
in a way that reflects your own experience.

We protect the integrity and visibility of human artists, makers and creators while welcoming meaningful collaboration between people and technology. The goal is a clearer conversation about process.

We do not judge artistic quality, determine copyright ownership or condemn the use of AI. A person can create entirely by hand, use conventional digital tools or direct and refine generated material. The five seals give those processes a shared, understandable language.

The creator has the final word.

Seven questions offer a moment of reflection and an advisory recommendation. The creator chooses the final seal, including a different seal from our suggestion, without having to justify that choice.

The published meaning still matters: a declaration should be a good-faith, reasonable description of the identified work. It should not contradict known facts or make a component-only claim appear to cover an entire object.

A place for each work.

Creators decide what constitutes a work, component or edition and whether they want to register it. Each registered work receives an individual page with its artwork, scope, process summary, original answers and optional artist statement.

There is no lifetime label for an artist. Your process can change, and your next creation can tell a different story.

Accountability with care

Clarity includes room for correction.

A credible challenge identifies a particular work, a specific discrepancy and supporting information. General suspicion, an AI detector score or a dislike of the work is not enough on its own.

In this first version, creators can correct or withdraw their own records using their private edit keys. A staffed challenge intake and independent Gold review are not yet open.
